They are both a bit bright for me, the 2nd one lacks contrast. everyone has their own opinions on how much contrast should be used, tho..... I don't like it too intense on babies and small children.
Hope you don't mind that I did about 1 minute of PP to increase the contrast and pop those adorable baby blues out.

Oh wow, thanks! I do like that a lot better. I personally love bright pictures, but I love your edit to add more contrast! Bright doesn't mean flat and you made it look a lot better.

Easy, peasy. I just used the sharpen tool in my Photoshop CS4 (available in all PS programs) and ran it over the eyes at 38%. Then I passed the dodge tool over them once on Medium at 18%. The whole process takes less than 1 minute!
I change the percentages for each photo so you have to play around a little until you find the geneal area that works for every photo but these settings work well for most.

Thanks everyone! I am going to try adding more contrast to more of my pics, I think I'm a bit afraid of it for some reason.
