I took this last September whilst on a trip to Alice Springs using a Canon A75 on auto. Believe it or not this is a river bed.

Didn't upload very well. What is the best size to upload without losing quality?

Is it me or is that picture really badly pixelated? It looks as though it was enlarged poorly.

Do you use photoshop?
in photoshop, this is what I do:
click image than image size..., than choose your width ( I always take 800 pixels)
after the resizing, click file and save for web...
choose jpeg and than lower the quality until the filesize is 100K (or a bit lower)
I think you better take your width smaller than 800 pix.
I can do 800pix width, but I make my pictures 200kb.
If you upload them here, they have to be smaller dan 100Kb, so 800pix will make your pictures low quality

Thanks for the advice. I reduced the resolution to reduce the file size. Bad idea, lesson learnt.

It was worth the effort. Very nice. Just how high does the water get? (How highs the water Brian?)
Sorry, listening to Johnny Cash.

Don't know how high it gets. I was amused by a sign above the river bed which warned " Danger - No Swimming"
These rivers can be dry for years. The local town Alice Springs, has a yearly race on the Todd river called the " Henley on todd" http://www.henleyontodd.com.au/
The only time the race is cancelled is if there is water in the river. I think that has only happened once.
