I took this photo last June in Portland, Maine. It was taken about an hour before sunset. I really liked the color of the clouds and sky. To capture those colors I had to leave the cliffs and bay underexposed. I thought the picture was ruined, but then I got Photoshop Elements for Christmass.

Let me know what you think of my first photo editing attempt.

Good job and nice photo Dave. I don't know what there would be to improve on.

It is a lovely TRAVEL picture. I may even have been there some years ago.

I would have liked framing that lead off into the ocean on one side (don't know if that is possible).

I would hvel liked beautiful sun and long shadows that strengthened the image.

Great shot, I really like the pattern of the clouds and how the horizion goes thru the house.

the file is too big. Try making the photo smaller. From what i saw at 1 time, it doesnt look all that bad

Sweet shot! Only one gripe though... the colors on the lighthouse could be a bit brighter and more contrasted. I had some time so I spent 10 mins to make this.

It's a very good photo, but Dave's edit gives it some extra zip. Well done to you both!

Your edit looks great Dave. Thanks for the help. I think I'll play around with photoshop to see if I can get the same results.
