Hello
I am thinking about getting into studio photography for martial arts.
I've read through many of the posts here but cant seem to find anything similar.
Basically, there will be two types of photos, one is of various poses and the other will be action shots. The various poses will be typical studio photos but the action shots will be timed for a sword cut. Basically something like this:
Pic 1 (http://aikidoofmariposa.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/ObataBW.jpg)
Pic2 (http://www.japaneseswordsmanshipshinkendo.com/product_files/tameshigiri_cover.jpg)
The pictures will mostly be about 3x5, printed in books for a training manual so they dont have to be artistically perfect. I've looked through BH and found some things but not completely sure if they are any good, if they will function together, if there are any better alternatives and if I am just straight out missing something. My budget for everything is about $3000, or up to $4300 including a new lens.
So far the equipment I have:
Canon 30D
24-70 2.8L
30mm 1.4L Sigma
Somethings I am looking at:
Speedotron DM1604 3 CC Head Kit (110V) (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/182658-REG/Speedotron_21234_DM1604_1600_W_S_3CC.html)
Gossen Digipro F (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/361574-REG/Gossen_GO_4033_Digipro_F_Flash.html)
Wein PS-500-1E Pro-Syn (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/63136-REG/Wein_W910150_PS_500_1E_Pro_Sync_1_Channel_System.h tml)
Stand
Any suggestions?
Canon Remote Switch RS-80N3 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/164276-REG/Canon_2476A001_Remote_Switch_RS_80N3.html#features )
Also looking into a 85mm lens. Would the 85mm 1.2 be appropriate for these types of photography?
Any suggestions?
