OK so i have windows xp 64bit and i go to install the eos utility for my 5dmk2 and it says "You cannot install eos utility on this computer. Verify whether the required environment for use has been satisfied. Cancel installation." has anyone come across this problem? i live in the US and am clicking on the correct region. ive also tried the other regions for the heck of it, and it still gives me the same error. any help would be great. thanks.

Are you installing from CD, or are you installing an update (any download is an update only, or at least requires an original)

Hmm. I guess the link won't help much then, since it appears to be another problem: The CD should work fine...
However, you might get lucky...

One of the issues I noticed was that the user installing the software must have admin privledges. I have "admin" privs on my laptop, but I still have to log in with the true admin account in order to install or upgrade.
As a note, anyone that gets the "EOS Utility is shutting down" error message using Vista or Vista 64, for some reason the AppData folders and sub-folders must be visible in the /USER/Username folder. There is a "CanonINC" folder within the folder structure and I believe it has some sort of software registration info that EOS Utility requires. My EOS Utility quit working for my account after I inadvertantly hid some folders. The EU would only work by running as adminstrator. After I unhid the AppData folder and subfolders, the Utility worked as normal. Sorry for being so longwinded.
