I'm going on a business trip later this month in Philly. What sites are there to see around town?

Also, should I take off for the Monopoly tour of Atlantic City? Anything interesting there to see or shoot? I've never been to the East coast.

Also, I was thinking about driving into New York, but I'm not thinking that would be a great idea. I'd like to see it (as it's not too far) but driving there would probably be a pain.

Any advice? Any pictures from your travels in that area?

you'll definetly want to see eastern state penetenary. you can view my pictures from there at http://www.photowad.com/jail . its seven dollars to get in and its not open on mondays or tuesdays.

the dali exhibit is at the art museum now, and its a great exhibit, you're going to need advanced tickets for that though. but its really worth it.

you can get a cheesesteak 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

you definetly must check out South Street for all the eclectic shopping, the best parts are between 10th and Front streets.

Rittenhouse Square has some great places to photograph.

you could see the liberty bell or independence hall if you're into that sorta thing, considering philadelphia was the first capitol of the united states.

you could check out city hall along with love park and the ben franklin parkway. all great sites to see.

thats all i have for now, hopefully that helps.

Nice pics. You shot all those with the kit lens??

Is the Eastern State Penn open at night? I should have mentioned that I'll probably be arriving during the day Sunday and will be in training from Monday to Friday until (I'm guessing) 4 or 5. I'll be leaving on Saturday or Friday night. I'm trying to figure out what to do before I book my flights.

Good ol' Salvador. There's nothing like a melting clock that'll put your mind at ease. I think I checked that out and it's only open until 4... or maybe I'm confusing that with something else.

i agree w/ awad. south st and the art museum are must see/take pic areas (lots to do/see on south st.). if youre into architecture, you can check out independence hall, city hall, or just walk around center city. i'd also go to penns landing and china town. its kind of touristy, but then again, you're a tourist there. ooo, almost forgot reading terminal market (which is right next to the market east station and the greyhound station). lots of food there. hope i didnt forget anything.

Those Philly cheese steaks are yummy. Another great place to dine in Philly is Morimoto's.
