Hi there

I'm considering buying the following Manfrotto 055X PRO 4 Carbon Fibre Tripod with 48cr2 but I'm not sure about going for the 4 leg version re stability but I like the idear of it being that much small? Has anyone got the for leg version?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Mike

Four leg version? Um... It's called a TRI-pod for a reason.

If you mean the one with the variable center column, then it's an excellent choice, especially if you do a lot of macro.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "48cr2" head... There are the 486RC2 and 488RC2. Is it one of those?

Yeah the 4 means that the legs have 4 segments, so it can collapse shorter than a 3 segment leg. Big question is how tall are you? If 6' or over, I would suggest the 3 segment version. Maximum height without the center column extended is perfect for a 6 footer IMO.
