I wanted to take a pic of my car and incorporate the entrance to the car park and the shadow the gate casts. I know its a car park and not very exciting but i just liked the contrast of colors from the outside to the car

sooooooo i took on board everyones c&c, always appreciated here.

As for the empty space i did intentionally leave that as i wanted to use this image for a sig on the rx8 forums, so this is what i came up with, i did some cleaning up on the hot spots and i tried a desaturated look but then the fence made even less sense than it already does, i prefer this edit

yeah that was the above light

hmm, perhaps move the car to the left a bit to clear from that light

yeah i hear you, but it was really difficult because of the angle of the gate i wanted to get it in with the car, if i would have moved it back the light above the roof would have created the same problem i think

Little hot around the Mazda logo, the light on the grill is nice. The reflection in the left side front bumper are too much. Maybe try airbrushing a lil.

I dont like the yellow WB to it either, I think a desaturated bg with a grey/blue wb would look better.

I don think the emblem isnas distracting as has been said. The gate and backgrond lighting is awesome. Did you strobe the car? What did yo use?

I have another shot of it, shot with the 100mm which doesn't have so many hot spots, ill edit that and try out what you said orlando. I know its not shot of the year or anything, I just took it for my signature on the rx8 forums.

The location has possibilities, but why that framing with all the dead space?
the gate i wanted to get it in with the car, I'm wondering why?
if i would have moved it back the light above the roof would have created the same problem i think Did you try it?

I love the gate, I love the light coming through from it and the shadows. Thanks all for comments. This was lit with ambient light and 580exII fired at the front, the front wheel and rear.

I love the "empty" space, as well as the colors/texture of the background. Not wild about the gate for some reason though. Would have preferred it if it wasn't there....

I love the gate, I love the light coming through from it and the shadows. OK, so for the sake of argument... i just liked the contrast of colors from the outside to the car The gate & shadows do look interesting & if you'd shot next to it, the gold complementary color would have made the blue of the car stand out. And the shadows would have led into the shot, instead out of it.
I like the pipes in the ceiling too, but would I want them to distract from the subject?
And, if your object is to make the car look good, do we really need all that empty pavement to accomplish that objective?

It's an interesting image, & I'm not saying that the shot sucks, & an AD would love to have the empty space to add text. But I don't think you got everything out of that location that you might have.

I really like the final image but there's a few things I would try to fix.

As mentioned, it was a quick jobby. I can spent 5 hours+ airbrushing and fixing one car pic which I really like.

Tools used
- Clone tool
- Burn tool

On the hot areas, just used the burn tool to cool it could a touch. Then just use the clone tool extracting areas which are close to match the light.

I absolutely love it! Don't worry about the minor details about hot here and there! IMO it's perfect.

If the wheels were turned the other way they wouldn't be showing frank Not the wheels. "It", as in the car, so it was facing into the shot instead of out of it, which would also be into your secondary area of interest, the fence.

Like everyone mentioned before, that hot spot just distracts me. Some touching up could be done where the rock chips or reflections are on the lip. Btw, I showed Hero these pics and it makes him misses his car haha.
