Here's a recent shot of a boat while I was on the island of Murano in Venice. It was taken with a 20D with a 24-70L f/2.8 lens & Hoya S-HMC circular polarizer.

I like it, but I think it suffers a bit from over-saturation. Perhaps if you mute the colors a bit?

I like it also, but it doesn't say Venice to me.
Venice is a beautiful city, in the right conditions.
I would love to see some more shots.

Following your suggestions, here it is with less saturation:

To show a little more of Venice, these are from Murano Island:

Like the first shot, but the last one is perfect, IMO. Nice job! :)

i like it, but i think it would have been better if you had knealt down to the level of the boat for a different angle

Thanks for all the feedback!
I could've tried a wider shot or a different angle to show some buildings in the background but I think I would've lost the effect of the colors in the boat. That's what stopped me in the first place to take a shot.

Here's one of my fave Venezia shots taken in winter. It was taken between Xmas and New Year a few years ago. It was quite cold (-5oC or something like that) the buildings just seemed to suck the heat out of your body.

The last one is my favorite. Ah Venezia, . . . the place where everyone sounds like my mother. I guess that's probably because she is Venetian!

My family fell in love with Venezia. Traffic is definitely not an issue there.

I love the last one from Murano. It captures much of teh character of that locale. I think Murano and Burano are some of the most photogenic places for cityscapes of the Venice area. The winter shot from BobL is excellent as well, conveying ths reality of Venice that most tourists never see.
Ahh, I LOVE Venezia!
