I believe it's noise - shot at ISO 1250. I will go back and see if I can smooth this out.

A wider dof, I think it would be more interesting in a shot like this if more of it was in focus

Have smoothed it out and toned down some of the noise in the background - -- Better ??

waaay too noisy, under exposed and white balance is off.
Nice composition and idea.

I am seeing alot of yellow, wasn't sure if that was done in editing or not?

Hmmm, there is still a load of noise isn't there.....
But personally, I like the shallow DoF, so maybe this is the kind of shot that could really work if you convert it into something arty in PS or GIMP?
