Leasing a lens

Hi all.. i'm looking to try out a lens but don't want to shell out a a ton of money. Any recommendations on leasing a lens? particularly the EF 24mm 1.4 lens.

You can rent the 24/1.4 from Adorama for $25 per day, $75 for a week, or $225 for a month.

You can pick it up on Thursday afternoon and return it on Monday and just pay for a one day $25 rental fee, too.

Just interested, looking at your existing selection of lenses from your signature. Why the $1100 24 1.4, a lens that costs triple those in your signature just on its own? Why not a 17-40 or something?
