I have an Xti/400D currently with a 2gig sandisk extreme3.
works relatively well but need to upgrade to higher capacity to facilitate shooting in raw.

I have checked Rob's matrix but updates have stopped for this camera and there are no tests showing for 4,8,16 gig cards. I can see from the 50D tests that the Sandisk Ducati, Extreme IV, and Lexar Pro 300x performed very well,
a HUGE speed difference compared to extreme3. will this performance translate to the Xti/400D?

Please chime in with your suggestions regarding the speed + reliability of the cards you are using/used for Xti/400D.

I've been using Kingston CF cards in 4, 8 and 16 GB capacity. I shoot sports, mostly with the 16gb card in the 1D MK III and the 4 gig in the 40D. The 4 and 8 gb cards have been used for several years in a 20D, 30D, 40D and every now and then, the 1D. No problems encountered at all (900 Monday night at a LL baseball game).

I format the card before every use and reset the counter to zero in which ever camera body I'm using.
NOTE: Each camera has a different file numbering system. The 1D file names start out with "MTH_0001" and the 40D file names start with "Img_0001"

These cards are the 133x speed.

I don't know if this info is what you are looking far, but it's all I have to ffer.

The 50D supports UDMA and the XTi doesn't - so that's a significant part of the performance difference. You'd get a better gauge of performance in your camera by looking at the 40D numbers.
