This is my son playing with a camera he found. I guess he's starting young. Let me know what you think. I have tried PS'ing the bright part of his face where the reflection of the camera lit it up, but I was wondering what people thought of that. Whether it was ok the way it is, or not. I can't decide. And let me know which one you like more... the BW or Color. Thanks for the feedback.

Lovely shot, I prefer the B&W and I would leave the reflection.

I like the color. I find your(?) sleeve in the background distracting. Maybe blur it a little more or tone it down in intensity?? I LOVE the light on his face! What a cutie.

2 to 1 in favor of the color. Thanks for the info. I'm glad you all like it this way, with the light reflecting off his face. It doesn't look natural when I try to get it down to normal colors. I will try blurring the sleeve as well. Keep the comments coming.

The reflection is very good, and it means something(for example, the attraction of the camera to the child). But I think the light is a bit too strong, maybe making it soft will be better.

I too prefer the color image, but think it would make a good family-hang-on-the-wall black and white if the image were to have a bit more contrast. For what ever reason most color shots reduced to B/W electronically seem to be a bit flat - nothing unique to your image. It is just very difficult to come out with real quality bw images from digital color. Great catch either way though - cheers.

I think they are both good but I prefer the colour one. The reflection is good and I'd keep it.

Both are great. If I had to choose, I'd pick the colour version. I wouldn't change a thing. Composition, focus, reflected light, DOF... perfect IMO. This photo could say so many different things. I like to see it as a bond between father and son and planting the interest of photography into the boy. I can also see this as an advertisement for the camera company in any magazine (if the camera name were clearly marked). Great job.

Great shot. I agree with Alan about bonding. I love his fingers on your hand (on the left) -- they emphasize his trust in you. fabulous.
