Any body have any comparison pictures? I'm still stuck between these 2 lenses and I will be ordering one next week. I searched, but I guess my query wasn't good enough, so if there is a thread with this comparison, please show me the way and discard this.

The key factor between these lenses is speed - F2.8 vs F3.5-F5.6. If you want to take photos of anything moving inside or in lowish light without using a high ISO, the F2.8 is the lens you want. If you only take photos of things that don't move and have shaky hands, get the IS. It was an easy decision for me, I got the Tamron, and i'm very happy with it. The Tamron has a reputation for being sharper, I know Bob really likes his 28-135 though.

Very tricky choice ... the tester, fstopjojo, chose the Sigma 40-70 f2.8.

I wish I wasn't at work on this $55 dollar lcd screen.

It would be really great if some one had some car photography shots with both of these lenses.
