Hi. I wanted to find out what might be the minimal, effective DSLR equipment list to begin working as an assistant to a pro wedding photographer? Is there a guide or standard equipment list around that would detail what is needed to get started?
Thanks for any advice

The wedding FAQ (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=255604) covers equipment. Assistants don't have cameras, they assist.
I have an assistant who's also a 2nd shooter, I provide all the equipment she needs: one camera, one flash, 17-55 F2.8 IS and she uses the 100 2.8 or 70-200 if i'm not using it.

Thanks, I found the wedding FAQs. I am an experienced photographer, just not done ceremony work yet. Have done receptions though as a second shooter and took 2 wedding/lighting seminars for basics. But I want to assist first to get things down better.

Like I said I don't expect assistants to have any equipment. The best approach is to ask the person you're working for.
