The second one, nice perspective btw, is a little bit too dark. The first is dark as well, but one can argue that that was done on purpose.

I think you should invest more time in post processing. Contrast is a bit too low. Try to learn about curves and/or levels....

Greetings from a fellow dutchman!

Thanks! I agree on both, the thing is I have no clue whatsoever when it comes to PP. Photoshop is like magic to me: it's wonderful, I just don't know how to work it.

I'm a master on cropping though :P.

Groetjes terug!

You should, however. Unfortunately, I don't live in the Netherlands anymore, I could have shown you some simple things. I am not a PP gury myself (still learning!) but the fact is that a picture must be processed well to become a good picture.

Milk cows with earrings, that looks about right. LOL. I couldn't resist.
Greetings from a fellow Dutch woman :P Living in Canada now :)

Oooh I like the sunset one with the 2 cows drinking! That's very pretty. Might want to try and edit out the little flare though.

Do you have any pictures with a closer up shot of the windmill's??

Thanks for sharing :)

(PSssst- careful how many you post though!)

Thanks! :) Yes, I really dislike the flare as well, but I can't seem to get rid of it. Might have something to do with my non-existent photoshop skills...

And no, no close-ups, I'm afraid. That pic was shot with a standard 18-55 and I couldn't get any closer, because of the big gate in front of the field.

Thanks for the feedback!

The cows in the first shot are underexposed. HDR would help a shot like this, but that can be difficult with subjects that move.

I love the sunsets, in #1+2 a underexposed (-2ev) fill flash would help alot, and I suggest you start shooting in raw and you can dual process to bring some light to the cows, or hdr as gorge shooter suggested. however with limited pp skills it will be difficult. I would suggest the great tutorials from lynda.com or kelby to advance your understanding of photoshop. Both helped me immensely and I have been using photoshop for many years already.

Some very nice shots Iris, you live in a beautiful part of the Netherlands, not in a town/city like me :p.

Groetjes terug ;)
