I got a Stroboframe VH2000 (stroboflip) bracket on ebay that came with the universal SLR anti-twist plate, which works fine for the 20D without the grip. I want to use the camera with the grip and this plate is too small.
Which anti-twist plate will I need in order to use the 20D w grip?

Thanks

I have a Stroboframe Pro-T, this plate (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=50547&is=REG) works well for me.

If you want to be able to put the bracket on a tripod you'll want one of these (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=52735&is=REG) too.

Does it work with the Battery Grip? I think I have the plate and it doesn't work

No, sorry about that, didn't notice about the grip - I believe you need a different plate if you're using a grip. Have a look on http://www.tiffen.com , they have some more information.

Hey Toogy -

I have the VH2000, but I don't have an anti-twist plate . . . what's that for? my VH2000 fits directly on my 20D w/the grip. if I use it with my tripod, i screw my QR plate to the bottom of the stroboflip.

Anti-twist plates are to stop the camera moving around on the bracket. On the VH-2000 i'm not sure if it's necessary, because of the way it's built - they're probably more for the rotating style brackets.

Do you have some sort of cork or rubber mat on the mounting surface? mine has nothing. I got it off ebay, so it is possible that I am missing something. Without the plate, the mounting screw will not tighten enough to hold it securely

Without the plate, the mounting screw will not tighten enough to hold it securelyaha! Yes, I do have a cork on the bottom of mine to prevent it from twisting. I bought mine new and it came with the cork.

I'm not trying to be a wise-guy, but I just wanted to make sure you noticed that the flip-arm is adjustable to accomodate the height of the grip (just need a screwdriver to loosen it and slide it up and down). I also tightened my actual "flip" brackets so that it doesn't rotate by itself when I turn the camera over. I actually have to push the flash so that it rotates around the lens.

yes I adjusted the height already. I wonder where I can get this cork from?

i mounted this to my 20d and grip @ samys last weekand.. it felt REALY un-sturdy. I thought I was going to bend the thing every time i flipped the flash!!! I even had the cork in the bas as well

The concept of this grip is OUTSTANDING, I am just afraid of it bending, think it will be an issue?

According to Tiffen (who make stroboframe) you do need the cork pad, there's no dedicated anti-twist plate for a battery grip mentioned on their site. I don't know where you'd get the cork pad, B&H don't seem to list it, but if you give them a call they might be able to help you out. Alternately advertise on the "buy and sell forum" here, someone might be able to sell you one. My kit came with 2 of them, but i'm in New Zealand so that won't help you much.

I contacted Tiffen by email last night and just got a reply and they are going to send me a cork pad in the mail for free.
Talk about great customer service, considering I bought it second hand!
