Thanks dharris for the title. This only took an hour to put together in photoshop. I still have some flaws in it.

I used photomerge in photoshop CS, and lots of editing. Yes it was on a tripod, and just loose enough to followed him, and yes 5 frames per second comes in handy.

That is very cool. I have wanted to do this with my dog running across the shallow end of the lake.

A friend of mine has been after me to take some pics of him doing sick jumps like that. I'm looking forward to hooking up with him to do so. But I'll be damn sure he doesn't see that result 'cause sure as I'm sitting here typing this, I can't make photoshop do that.

Great work.

i think it would be pretty easy to do actually. here is how i would do it.
1. set up the camera for a fast ss and rapid fire mode.
2. when the skier does his jump take as many pics of him in the air as teh camera will allow.
3. get home and open all the files in ps
4. use the first shot as teh main picture
5. select just the skier from the next shot using one of the lasso tools and copy.
6. go to the main picture and paste the shot there and use the move tool to position properly.

Very cool shot, love it.

I wonder if it would be easier to crop the pics & stich them together as a pano?

You got the first part right, but in photoshop go to batch and photomerge, then you have to use the clone tool to fill in the two corners.

you should make money with that shot - do it quick before someone copies it
Submit it to some mags!
