Congrats on the paid thing it is exciting to know we can get paid for something so fun... As far as the shot goes, the subject is showing shadows in his face/cheek area. I'm not sure if he has a complexion scaring thing or if he just has chipmunk cheeks? The depth of field needs work in that the subject should be in focus and the back ground (unless you intended it to be a part of the picture) should be blurry or fused out as it takes away from the model. Everything else in my opinion is just fine. The shadows on his face from hairline to the crown of nose could use more light though. I hope you don't take it poorly but you said you could take it... it looks as if the focus was on his shirt and not on his face. I try focusing on the eyes in most portrait shots. I hope this helps you.

i think a lot of the problem is the very low res image. it's pretty well focused i think and the background is fairly blurry. He does have chubby cheeks. Not much i could do for that . I do appreciate any critique and do not get hurt easily. keep em coming!

I agree there's an issue with the lighting on the face. It looks like the bottom of his face is a totally different skin tone than the top.

Aside from that, nice pic!

It seems as if you dodge and burned this photo..........did you??

In any case, its a nice moody pic.........I would've been more selective with the lighting to make this pose more effective..........a pose like this combined with the flat lighting doesn't really give a lot of impact.

Nice start though.......maybe we can see the others?? There has to be more "classic" poses where he is actually looking straight on the camera.

Good pose. It looks like a big circular tool mark running under his right eye, across the nose, and down the cheek. It also looks like perhaps a filter might have been used on the original, perhaps a gradient ND? The bottom of the photo looks darker than the top.

the pose looks fine, the composition also, but the photo is generally flat and lifeless along with the already mentioned 'shadow casts' on the subjects face.........perhaps blurring the background more would also help.
