I am on amazon right now browsing but I'd love to hear anyone's opinion. I am looking for a book that covers poses more so than lighting and how to keep a childs attention.
I am a parent of two and we have lots of friends with children so I am going to use this as a learning tool and the kids as models :D
Thanks in advance for any help.

I do quite a lot of child pictures (also being a parent of two) and friends ask me to shoot theirs (with the camera I hasten to add) they are all candid non posed shots. For me these are much better than posed shots for kids and much better than studio shots.
None of this helps you find a book for posing kids of course. I have a feeling that Patrick Lichfield has done something on how to make the most out of child photography
The biggest problem I have is that my oldest (2 years) will grin like a chimp on acid every time she sees me pointing the camera at her

I have the same problem with my nephew... and the embarrassing part is that he's 10, not 2
I recommend using a zoom (getting away from the helps them forget about the camera) and telling them that you "just need to fix something on the camera" before you shoot. They tend to act much more naturally when they think you're not shooting.
