shadsmom,

I guess you are using the CD writing software that is built in to XP. I have upgraded my own system, but as far as I can remember you can only write to a CD once wwith this software. If you want to fill up the CD, then you need to copy several folders (up to 650mb) at one time.

Do not delete any pictures from the PC until you have, at least, two copies on separate CD's and you have checked that you can view the pictures on these CDs. Remember you can easily buy more more blank CDs, but you cannot easily take the same pictures again. :)

If you are intending to edit the images at all, never edit the original. Make a copy and save changes to the copy.

Once you put a folder onto the cd with XP's built in burning software you can't change the contents. You're best to organise your files on your computer before moving them over to be copied.

Alternatively you could try downloading Nero from http://www.ahead.de as its probably the best general package around for creating cds and you can also get the Kodak Photo CD plug-in for Nero.

On my Win ME system, my CD burner lets me copy files, close the session, but leave the CD open so I can add more files later to fill up the CD. I would think you would have this option, you may want to check & see-?

This is Adaptec CD software that came with my computer.

Best regards,

Kerry

ShadsMom,

Are you using CD-R's or CD-RW's when you put the images on to disk? I know with the Adaptec software (basic edition of Easy CD Creator) I have I can make a CD-RW like a floppy disk and go back at any time and add more files to it.
