I just want to rant about all the people ranting about the benefits or lack there of protection filters and hoods. They rant so much they just become super ranters with rants of steal.

Ranting about rants is a double rant about people ranting on with rants that make you want to rant about ranting, which in turn makes you a rant ranter rant maker with extra rant.

Rant... has that word lost all meaning to you yet... maybe I'll say it some more. When you rant on about things that make others rants you're causing a rant flux that is rantulating on a rant level never before ranted about (even by the rant king over at kenrockwell.com) rant end.

I rant about the Title Fairy at this time. She's just too enthusiastic. She's too secretive. I think the TF is either (a) PEKKA or (b) the first POTN mod or (c) all mods or (d) someone else.

I rant about the TEMPTATION of POTN, in particular that frustrating, annoying, ever-updated 200MM f/2 thread. If I see one more shot in there, I'm going to flip out and buy the lens. ($500 rebate at the moment, FWIW)

Oh, and Canon rebates! WHY all the paperwork, my Japanese friends?

Hahahah, on a bad day (ie <1hr sleep, about three times a week, damn isonmia) I will be abit like that, but I'll lose my train mid sentance.... Nah, for me it's more I have split second though that you know I have to do something important (switch off stove kind of important) then I forget, but I remember enough to know it was important.... And I start going through what it could be, retrace where I was etc... Then I waste long enough that it would have already happened, and can't stop thinking about it, and if I try to I can't stop thinking about not thinking about it :|...

I went on a 30 mile bike ride today and saw a Canon XSi in the hands of a husband and wife. They had just bought a few months ago and already have 30k shots with it. :) The husband was jonesying for the new T1i, or whatever it's called. Ya'll know...the one that he could shoot video with.....he was quite enthusiastic. She wasn't.:lol:

Love the thread. But no, I haven't taken it on a ride yet. We usually do at least 20 miles, not too sure how accommodating he would be to me hopping off to take pics. I can become a bit obsessive once I start. Plus, I use clipless pedals and would worry too much about falling over and breaking it!

I do take a little point and shoot with me. And, of course, my iphone. Which we all know has stunning photographic quality. :rolleyes:

How many lenses do you take? I've got the Lowepro flipside 300 which is great for carting everything from place to place, but on my bike, I'm now using a Lowepro EX160 which can carry body+lens & a.n.other lens up to my 100mm macro, or body+lens & flash. I highly recommend you consider taking less...but still take it all the same!

Years ago—far, far too many years ago—I took up the hobby of photography. Shot 35mm, Minox, and MF, did my own wet work, and all that. Lots of Pan-X and Tri-X for B&W, Ektachrome printed on Cibachrome for color.

After years of doing the click and stink thing, I came to be quite technically proficiernt. But, alas, just that—technically proficient. I didn't have a photographically artistic bone in my body.

I surrendered to the inevitable, and persued other interests. I took up technical writing, at which I did excell.

Eventually, I met her. When she expressed an interest in photography, I was more than pleased to teach her what she needed to know, technically. It rapidly became apparent that she did have photographic creativity, lots and lots of it. We became a team. She decides what to click, and I taught her how to click.

This is why I say that we are a photographer. She has the creativity; I merely have the technical skills. The creative one amongst us has control of the shutter. And, sadly, she does not go in for self-portraits. Or pictures of people in general.

I also humbly serve as sherpa and chauffeur, and love it.

So, you must perhaps keep your skygoddess to yourself, and I must keep my own personal Goddess of All to myself: she whose wisdom shames Hera, and whose beauty causes Aphrodite to curse.

Well I was going to mention that I needed some CBait to massage it but thought better of it. You'd think that mods would appreciate my discretion, wouldn't ja?

Love the thread. But no, I haven't taken it on a ride yet. We usually do at least 20 miles, not too sure how accommodating he would be to me hopping off to take pics. I can become a bit obsessive once I start. Plus, I use clipless pedals and would worry too much about falling over and breaking it!

I do take a little point and shoot with me. And, of course, my iphone. Which we all know has stunning photographic quality. :rolleyes:

I need to find a reasonable pack to carry it in. My Lowepro 200aw would get really sweaty on my back!
