Yup, it's true. I am a cheap bastard. So today when I was at MLCS (my local camera store) and I saw a used grip for my 300D I was excited! My cheapskate radar was bleeping hard! Then I went into cheapskate overload when my saleswoman sold it to me for $40!

The only thing better than "used" in "mint" condition is bargain basement pricing! I love getting stuff cheap.

Lucky bastard... I've been wanting a grip for 6 months already...

Can't justify buying a new one.

Don't feel alone on being cheap. I too am cheap, real cheap. I believe in getting all I pay for out of a product. I'll bruise a thumb squeezing the last bit out of a tube of toothpaste.

At least I'm not the only person who squeezes the crap out of a tube of toothpaste to get that last little bit out of it. :) But I'll go to a Cub game and pay $6 a beer. Go figure.

Ha! I've got you beat there, when I've squeezed everything out of the tube, I'll cut it open with scissors and get at least two more brushings out that way! :)

Tis true! Had to do it once when we ran out!

As for second hand stuff to save money, I'm all for it, alot of my original EOS50 kit was second hand. I am hanging out for a good priced second han 70-200 at the moment, problem is most people here think they can sell them pretty much for what they are worth new :(

"Cheap" is leaving the wedding reception, off on your honeymoon, and catching a train which takes all night to get up state and then a "short walk" to the hotel. Signed the register at the hotel around 8am! Argh!

DP, I hope you tried to haggle, hehe.

Im also cheap, I searched ebay for weeks before I found the battery grip for my film rebel for $20 instead of the $60 retail, hehe. Hopefully I can do the same for what ever dslr I pick up.

Maybe we should start a "I'm so cheap that..." thread

Whoops, it looks like we already did. Ironic for a forum that prides itself in getting new people to buy L glass.

Edmonton Garage Sale Prince here, (my dad is the king ;)) I love a good bargain and grips IMO are as important as a lens for a SLR.
