Hello all,
Newbie with question:
In the menu of my day-old 20D the marker is 1 increment to the right of 0 in AEB function. Clicking and turning left does nothing and going right allows for the bracketing. Cannot get it to 0. please help.

If there's only one line then it's already on zero, the scale can be a little funny. From memory you have to hit set then use the thumb wheel to change it - try both directions, and try the other clicky wheel too.
I never actually worked out how to use AEB - when I set it up and hit the shutter it only took one photo. Gota read the manual some time and work it out.

Simple. You have Exposure Compensation set. Turn it to zero, and then you're fine.
This is not a problem of the camera.

Tim,
Have you got the 'drive' set on single shot? If so, the cam should carry out the AEB over 3 separate shots. If you set it to continous it'll do the AEB in one go.

Thanks Arty, that saves me reading the manual ;) If I set it to continuous I have to hold the shutter button down for it to do 3 shots, or does it fire all three after one button press?

One shot saved in three different exposures, i think

No - three separate shots. If it just applied different processing to a single physical exposure, it could do that in Single Shot as well. The camera has to actually fire three times to get the bracketed shots.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this (No forum e-mail notification?) Jon's right, in single shot mode, take 3 shots & they'll be standard-underexposed-overexposed. (You can set how far under/over you want them) In multishot mode just hold down the button. First 3 shots will be as above.
