Following the Groom

Hey there,

I am in kind of an interesting situation this weekend. I have a bit of experience with photojournalism and event photography, but have never shot a wedding before. A few weeks ago I was asked by a groom to shoot at his wedding as a second photographer. I have spoken with the originally hired photographer and she is fine with that. He basically asked me to do whatever I want during the wedding itself, but I will be following him in the preparation before the wedding, and the other photographer will be following the bride.

I haven't seen many photogs that get shots of the groom during the setup, and was wondering if anyone had a link to someone who has done a good job at it. It would be nice to get some good beta before the shoot.

I don't have any online right now. I go for detail shots, buttons and cufflinks being done up, ties being tied, as well as casual shots of the groom and all the guys.

Turns out I do have a few online - not many, as I don't most as many on the blog for each wedding as Jon and Nick do. I especially like the one where the B&G were getting ready in rooms side by side where I stood in the connection doorway with a REALLY wide lens and got both in :)

Mine or Jons? Jon's blog theme is linked from the bottom of his blog. Mine's based on one called "simpla siyah" or something like that, no idea where I got it from, but I modified it to look how I wanted it.
