Hi everyone!
Can you please help me with answers to the following questions:
1. Is Adobe Photoshop CS compatible with Canon 20D?
2. Can the programme convert raw images?
3. Where can I get a printed manual for the programme?
I am not an advanced digital photographer myself and in fact do not quite understand what I have asked above. Have tried to google it but no luck.
This info is for a friend of mine who is not a great internet user but loves his camera and keeps exploring the Adobe products.
We would appreciate your replies and will probably ask more!
Thanks in advance
P.S. I appologise for posting this twice. It's just this subforum seems to fit the questions better.

1. Yes, but you will need to download ACR 2.4 from the Adobe website first before working on the 20D raw file.
2. Yes
3. One comes with the software but you could probably order a copy from Adobe. But there are better and more useful PSCS book written by others. Check Amazon.com or your local book store.

I use Photoshop CS with my 20D every day. In order to convert RAW files, you will have to go to Adobe's site and download the newest Camera Raw plug-in.
Go to this page: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html
Choose Windows or Mac, then scroll down to Camera Raw 2.4
I don't know about a printed manual, but I have a fantastic book called "Adobe Photoshop CS for Photographers" by Martin Evening. I've used lots of software books, and this is by far the best I've ever seen. It cost me about 50 dollars, but it's worth every penny.

I don't know what's happened to the printed manual if there ever was one. I suspect there was only a CD and not a book.
But he DOES buy his software.

Sorry to be a pain but I originally posted my questions in the forum "Cornering the Pros" and the moderators have deleted it because of cross-posting.
But someone had already replied and the info was valuable. Could that person repeat his reply please?
Thanks.

I notice that CS2 doesn't have the ACR plug in
Is it elsehwere or does it need installing same as CS?

I think if you download the new RAW plug-in and follow the instructions for installing it you will find you are at least getting the newest version.
Photoshop CS/Plugins/file formats/camera raw is the hierarchy for my Macintosh. When you highlight "camera raw" it will tell you it's version #.

If you're using Mac OS X, it's in Library > Application Support > Adobe > Plug-ins > CS2 > File Formats
Not sure where it is if you're using windows but it shouldn't be hard to find if you do a Search.
