i got alot on at home..dad might have cancer(Agian) my brother is suicidal so hes been sectioned by metal health act..my mum is disabled..macro was getting to me..i was doing it to much..every day all day...and days i would go out and find nothing it would make more more depressed..so i needed somthing to take my mind of it..
Seem as tho both my best mates race nitro rc cars i thought it be good idea to get one.so below is the reason why im not posting as much.
i got about 200 really good keepers..i found 1 of them hover flies that look like a wasp..ie the colours on there abdomen.got some good ones of that..and various things iv bought..i bought 2 of the biggest jumping spiders in the world or on record..also i bought a dragon head cricket cost me 20£..lol..i got many images to edit ad upload but last week iv been depressed to the point of crying..its all getting to much for me so the images below should help me smile a bit..today where going to run it in..:) sinse i was 11 iv always wanted a 2 stroke petrol engine..but these nitro petrol ones kick ass over them...0-50mph 3-4 seconds
nitro fule, well the best stuff which we use is 16£ for half a gallon but that would last you a hole 8 hours racing i bet....the engine is a 2.2cc nitro which also has a turbo on it..These things go like a bat out of hell:)
tbh i was doing macro way to much..its good to have another hobbie to take my mind off macro for a few days.
RRP 300£..i got it for 279£ hats just the car and controller...i bought batteries fuel glow plug ect ect im ready to role now..this guy does custom made shells..i might get one of them..give him a mantis pic to put on it:)

That's really hard stuff, scott, I hope things work out for you. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing, sometimes, like listening to a music track over and over will just drive you up the wall; variety is good. Getting out and about and not being in the house is good, too. Keep at it, keep your head held up and if you let it drop too low then find something to do quick, anything, build a barn if it keeps you busy.
That's pretty much how I started photography after my fiance started getting involved in a cult and then booked it one day, gone for months and months on end. I was distraught so I just kept on finding new stuff to do. I started re-building old mountain bikes from old parts and trying to make them work, then I started snowmobiling, then sledding and snowboarding, when I got sick of that I started photography and it turned out I liked it even after I recovered.
"If you can't give a man reason, try to give him hope, and if you can't give him hope then just give him something new to do."
Man I LOVE RC stuff. I used to really really want a stealh bomber RC "toy" model when I was a kid. I was obsessed with the idea.
Dave, you're a doctor aren't you?

Scott,
I had intuitively sensed that things might have become more stressful in your life, just from reading your posts, etc.
I count your photos as one of the most enjoyable nature-related art that I have access to, and I look forward to seeing your new photos as often as you can create and post them. I know I'm not alone in personally benefiting from your work as a macro photographer - the world is so much richer due to your presence and your artistic contributions.
Your new hobby is really spectacular! I have often thought about jumping into some area of R/C hobbies and often read the leading magazines, etc. I can't get over how high-tech the car's engine and suspension are, not to mention the radio controls, etc - great photos, too. I know you'll really get a lot of benefit out of your new car and the enjoyment this new hobby will bring.
I was very sorry to read about the stresses and losses you're experiencing these days. Yet I'm so glad you're taking advantage of the available supportive resources as well as your hobbies. Without going into details about my own life, I will simply add that you're not alone with either the number of critical situations you're facing or their severity.
I hope all your difficulties improve soon, and know you'll be able to help your family in many ways.
Your new jumping spider photos have been so enjoyable, and your new praying mantis photos and other insect and bug photos are spectacular as always. I hope that knowing how much your many, many internet admirers enjoy and appreciate your photographic art helps you during this difficult time. I also hope you know that the care and love your provide for these critters is so respected and appreciated.
Please take care, and may the enjoyment you bring to the macro photography world be returned to you many times over.

I hope things work out too, Scott. I haven't been shooting much macro lately either, but nowhere near as serious reasons as yours. Love the car. Looks like fun. Thing I like about these hobbies is that while you are doing them, you think of nothing else but what you're doing at the time.

Hey scott, sorry to hear about the bad time you're going through. My mother in law has lung cancer and is going through a pretty tough time of it so I can sympathise with you there. It really is no fun.
I always wanted to have a decent rc car but the best I ever had was a battery powered one that would run for about 15 minutes before dying! Your new one looks pretty smart and I hope it gives you a release from the stresses you are going through.
And don't feel bad about getting nothing decent from a photo outing. I quite often get nothing I like - it happens to most, I'm sure. :)

I don't know you....but I know life can get you down sometimes. Wish you the best. Just remember one thing... You only get one chance at this life, enjoy it while you can. Easier said than done.
Enjoy the new hobby. It is something I have wanted to try too. :D
