Here are some shots I got last night. All were handheld mainly using my 70-200L. Enjoy! As usual, C&C is welcome.

You didn't get any grief walking in with the 70-200?

Well the 70-200 stayed in the pocket. Guy saw that I had a camera bag, didn't even look deeply into it and waved me on by.

It's a trick that normally works, I leave the big gun packed away and just show them the kit lens. They normally don't check any other pockets / sections.

:-D

Yeah, I was going to try and just put the 70-200 in the little drawstring case it came in and attach the nifty fifty or something.

most baseball stadiums (and i guess most outdoor stadiums) don't really care what kind of lens you bring. it's more about the risk you take bringing it there. There's no way I'm bringing my stuff to yankee stadium via NJ transit and the subway. Indoor arenas are much more restrictive. The prudential center in newark won't allow anything over 70mm.

Well, the KC T-Bones (and hence wizards since they sub lease the stadium) don't want you to bring a lens over 6". lol. Kind of like limiting horse power in a race without taking into account what the weight of the car is.

I've taken the 70-200 to both Busch and Wrigley with no problems. Both times bag was well inspected. In fact at Wrigley, the guy was so focused on the camera, he forgot to look at or scan my ticket.

Going to the All Star Game and the Prez is throwing out 1st pitch. I assume I'll be strip searched.

I bring my 30D with extender and 70-200 into Yankee Stadium all the time. As long as you don't interfere with other trying to watch the game, you could bring 1000mm if you can carry it... Only NHL, NFL, NBA have licensing issues...

Even then, half the time the person at the gate doesn't have a clue. They see camera, let you through. Worst case scenario you get told you can't bring it it, but soooooo worth the chance.

Anyone have C&C on the shots?
