You can read up on the small discussion in my other thread:

Anyways, I did look at filter holders and such but I'm still lost on what I should get. This will be going on my Canon 10-22mm.

So what filter holder and filters should I get for my lens (for landscape shots)?

For GND's, I recommend the Lee holder system with either Lee, Hitech, or Singh-Ray rectangular filters (Singh-Ray is very expensive). You will need an adapter ring for the Lee holder and I suggest you get the wide-angle version of the diameter that fits your 10-22 to prevent possible vignetting.

For ND's you can use the screw in type

For a CPL a screw in type will work as well.

For both of the latter, my suggestion is B&W multi-coated filters, although people also use Hoya multi-coated as well (although they're supposedly harder to clean).

John be careful or you'll get the same reputation as argyle :-):-):-)

Argyle, do you troll the boards for filter threads all day? I've never found one yet that you didn't already post in and usually answer all the questions for.

LOL.. wouldn't want to do that!

In seriousness, it sort of amazes me how often the question gets asked. That being said... I wish someone had been around when I was making the same decisions (which was well before I even knew about POTN). It's easy to spend a fortune on filters, then realize the ones you got don't really do what you need them to.. so you spend another small fortune getting what you should have in the first place.
