it's all pure speculation. no one knows for sure, as much people want you to believe they do. they know nothing, they are ignorant. go back and look at all the 5D II rumor threads people posted. Go back and look at how wrong they were. Even look at canonrumors.com, they were wrong too.
People seemed to live and die by the 5d II rumors, holding out to buy something. Then these same people complained and whined because the 5D II didn't live up to the rumors! LOL. Talk about waste of human space!
in all honesty, it's pretty useless to try to compare a camera that has not been announced yet to something that is already announced. it's a waste of time.

Fantastic! They brought back that Sony camcorder function with IR that was able to see through clothing. Sony's greatest invention taken off the market way before its prime.

As far as the video goes-I hope it is included, but I hope it doesn't raise the price. I do think it's a handy thing to have and worthwhile. I love the little video clips I've taken with my point and shoot while on vacation. Provides another couple dimensions to the memory. I'm certainly not going to bring a dedicated video camera, though.
I have the 50D and will be curious as to what upgrades the 60D brings. I really love the 50D, but if they improve ISO performance, AF, and provide video, I may think about switching. I guess it wil depend on what improvements are to be had and what the cost to upgrade after selling the 50D would be.

I'll probably sell my 40D soon and just wait till the 60D comes out.

I am hoping to replace my 20D with the new 60D. I think it is time to upgrade the 20D. It is getting a little old. Wife say's why do we have such a small screen?

The 60D won't be enough of an upgrade for me, I'm waiting on the 70D, it's supposed to be a major improvement.

speculation is fun!
let's hope they take the 50D wind back to 12MP and put out something that is a lot sweeter noise-wise :-)

Before anybody else can spoil my fun...
My prediction of the reaction when the 60D is announced, and then released...
<Tongue planted FIRMLY in cheek>
The 60D's noise at any ISO above 200 is so much much worse than the 50D. Because the 50D had the greatest advancement since I moved from my 110Instamatic to a 35mm point and shoot I found on sale at the corner drugstore.
FOCUS, this new 60D can't focus at all, my polaroid does much better with it's fixed lens out to 600mm. Why can't they get this right? It still needs the AF from the $7,000 1DsMkIV, even though its not out yet, we should expect this kind of improvement in a body that costs sooooo much less.
HD? Blah, my 60lbs BetaMax camera and tape deck that I have to roll around on a cart can blow the socks off this HD movie stuff, looks cartoonish, I'll never have an HD TV to watch it on anyway, I hate seeing myself in that mirror finish screen when the set is powered down. I don't know why people think that expanding their horizons a little bit is such a good thing! I'm perfectly happy being a stale photographer. You know, I sold a 4x6 print I made at Wally World 4 years ago...I took the pic with my 1mp camera phone, no noise at all from such a low res sensor.
My 10D only has a third of the pixels of the 60D, but its noise free up to 128,000ISO when I run it through the supercombobulated noise reducing, red eye enhancing, despeckling, intelligent sharpening software I downloaded for free, it uses open source.
I -MIGHT- actually leave the mancave, step away from the computer monitor and take a photo with my original D30. It only has 8 shutter actuations you know. I'm saving it for a special occasion. It's only 3 megapixels and has better noise quality than my 10D.
Most of all, I hope they get away from using something compatible with the BP-511/511A batteries. There is absolutely NO reason anything should EVER be backward compatible. I mean really people, I only get about 1,000 shots before I have to recharge!! I've got to have 1,200 shots minimum from a single charge, my work in the studio photographing white envelopes demands pure speed!!
Oh, and if you DO put a FF 68 megapixel sensor completely noise free up to 128,000ISO in the 60D, give it 50 point AF, 24 frames per minute, include an 18-55 L 1.4 IS lens, and a rebate slip for the 55-250 L 1.4 IS lens, and give me a new logo'd backpack with a 100 year unlimited warranty all at the low, low price of $199.00. I promise, I'll STILL find something wrong with the camera, probably that my 10mm-10000mm zoom I bought on sale for $48 has a flaw in the glass when I use this new body. I should have stuck with the P&S digital camera I bought 7 years ago!
<Tongue in cheek mode OFF>
Seriously...
For those I've offended and are seeing red right now, I'm truly sorry.
For those that haven't read down this far, they're still in the floor laughing, because they KNOW this guy... You understand.
I've seen this from the time I researched purchasing my 10D, and the D60 was a better camera. As each new xxD camera is announced and released its almost exactly the same story. I really didn't realize notepad held onto old text files to paste into new messages.
We all have our favorite cameras, generally whichever body we own. That's great! I just wish photographers would stop bashing the new gear that someone else was finally able to buy.
I've been a touch guilty of one or two things above, we all have. I'm just hoping this time we let the new body speak for itself and not bash it based on non-existant dream specs.

Don't you know?!
The 60D will have:
21MP
ISO 50-20,000 (or whatever that high ISO is).
HD video.
Will have the same ISO performance as the 5D classic.
Will come with a strap with 60D on it.
Will go 9.9999 fps (not 10fps, that would encroach on 1DmkIII sales).
DON't Ya know?!1?!?!

And, as well as all those modes like 'landscape, portrait, night, macro', it will have a special 'shootingbatteriesinaline' mode to make it easier for measurebators.
