somewhere on here i've seen where someone took a screen grab of their photoshop screen and posted it here as a jpeg image. if i'm making my point without blabbering and confusing anyone.
i want to do that with the setup screens where i'm adding new software, should an error occur later i can keep up with changes. thanks. and sorry, i'm sure this exists somewhere but i don't know a good keyword search. thanks.

if you use Vista or Windows 7, use the "snip it" capture utility built into the OS. if on XP, grab a free/shareware screen capture utility such as Farstone Capture and go to town! :)

The way I do it is Ctrl+ptrint screen then paste into a word doc.Just done a CS2 screen and it works OK, did not try to print it.

Cheers

Print screen button, or alt-print screen to capture just the current window. Paste into MS Paint/MS Word/Photoshop.

AnalogX is your friend. (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/System/capture/Freeware.htm)

Look around while there, they have tons of neat apps for free. Been using their stuff for 8 or 9 years now with no problems.

FastStone Capture (http://www.faststone.org/)

Seems to me the free version I have is still available on some sites but $20 isn't bad either. It's a tool I use nearly every day as it lets me select the area of the screen I want to save.

Found the free version here: http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/page4.html
