Hi All, my first picture post for critique. I took this pretty quickly so the right side was slightly off focus. Please critique. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nice catch to get that spread.. they are quite colorfull.

A few notes;
It's a shame the composition has lopped off the tail.
I'm uncomfrtable with the tightness of the crop on the sides.. nit sure it would be any better larger though.
The shutter speed was too "in the middle",.. it was not fast enough to stop the motion of the wings.. while at the same time had it been slower we might have gotten a pelasing motion blur to them... What we got instead was right in between,. just enough motion to make the wingtips look "mushy" but not enough to imply "motion"

Keep shooting these birds! They are a pleasure to shoot,. usually not to reluctant to model ;) and at the right timing, like you did above,. you can get some beautifull shots :)

Thanks for the comments. What do you mean by not comfortable with the crop? Would you recommend tightening the crop?

I think he means making the crop larger- less tight.

It actually looks like the duck is holding his wings in so they fit in the picture. Colors are wonderful.

Yep,. opening it a bit I thought. Titus' point may explain why it looks "uncomfortable"... great observation :)
