Hi all.
I just got a Canon 100mm Macro lens and after taking a few shots, I realized that I'm going to need to start using a flash for some stuff (insects, hand held use, etc). I thought I'd make a homemade solution, but I have enough money on hand to buy a bracket. I was wondering.. which of these brackets (or others I haven't seen) would be most effective? I want the flash to sit right above my subject and in front of my lens. So... suggestions?

Kirk - FB-8 Flash flip bracket

Delta - 7" flip flash bracket

Thanks!

P.S. Oh... I forgot... Do I need extension tubes to go with my lens? I've seen a lot of people talking about them. I've noticed I'm not getting the magnification out of the 100mm as some people have on this forum. Thanks again!

Suspect either will work although the delta seems to suffer from slightly floppy arm syndrome after some use. You might need to be careful you do not fire any flash directly into the lens if you are planning to have the flash gun in front of the lens.

Thanks for the tip LordV. I hadn't thought of lens flare or anything... I have also seen posts on this forum about the Delta bracket and how it loosens up over time. I might just try to make my own to start out with.
