Has anybody out there used this lens? I have heard a lot of good things about it on FM's forum but nothing here. For the money it seems pretty sweet. I just ordered one from Sigma4less.com for $539.95, it should be here next week. This is my first 3rd party lens so I am pretty anxious about it.
I will post some sample shots as soon as possible.

I have it. Its a pretty nice lens. I was going to do some more serious macro with it today, but its kinda muggy out here in SoCal so I probably won't.

I have this lens and its the best Macro I have used. Sharp, fast, excellent color, great bokeh. Just all around great.
Other macros used
Canon 100 f/2.8
Sigma 105 f/2.8
Sigma 70-300 LDO Macro (1:2)

This came out immediatly after I finally picked up the Canon 100mm...
From what I've seen and heard,.. oherwise I very well may have ended up with this.
Something about that 150mm focal length just seems perfect to me.. and this lens has Sigma's HSM focus motor so it should be a good all around performer.

Well, based on what I am hearing I made a good choice. I just tracked the package and it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow (Friday). We are supposed to have good weather this weekend so I will put it to the test on Saturday and Sunday.

I think you should like it.
I have a Tamron 180 Macro, and the extra length tends to help with skitish stuff.
I think you should like it for Flowers also. You can get really close to the flower, and frame it in the frame. 1:1 is very fun.
I have never used the Sigma 150mm, but I hear it is very good. I do hope you enjoy it, and please post some sample images in this post. I would love to see them.

The whole Sigma Macro range seems to be much respected and offers good resale value. I saw a SH 50mm go for £5 below normal retail a few days ago on ebay!! I think you made a great choice.
I've got the Sigma 105 f2.8 Macro on my wanted list at the moment ... too tight wadded to go the 150mm route ;-) I just need to find a nice, recent SH one.

Tam 180 macro.
Enjoy playing @ 1:1.
You may find that you will need to use your flash at times. Especially with high DOF.

Well, UPS dropped the lens off this afternoon. My first reaction is that the build quality is very good. This is a solid feeling lens and not as heavy as I had thought it would be. The HSM focusing motor is fast and silent and the 3 position focus limit switch is a great plus. It comes with a nice case, hood and tripod collar as well. I will post my first shots on Monday.
