Hey gang - for the first time in my wedding photog career I booked three weddings on a weekend and feel like I was run over by a truck! Here is a photo from my Friday wedding - the couple were in their 40's - a first marriage for both - they had the wedding in her rural hometown and it was elegant.

I hit it off with the brides father - and took the couple to his farm for a few photos - I did some elegant photos but they were all game and I thought this one came out well - I will edit the others and post--- I actually convinced them to pose in an old abandoned bait store - and other locations.

Here is my take on wedding the American Gothic way:

do you have it with a full body, I wish their hands weren't chopped. And her dress is pretty blue (I'm assuming it wasn't in person?) Great idea though with the pitch fork!

Is it just me, or is his hand massively huge. They are as big as his head. Also, I think I would prefer a more tighter crop. Lots of space around them, which takes the focus away from B&G

Fun shot. I am sure they will love it.

But from the photog point of view, in addition to what everyone said, the pitchfork really blends into the fence. It would be neat to see this shot at like f2 and from a few feet further back.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments - I took several shots at different angles/etc - just trying to cull through the tons of shots from a few weddings over the weekend.
Here is another one:

Someone mentioned the dress -- here is a creative dress shot that I did. Typically I like to hang them in a window at the church - there were no great window locations at this church - so I went into the basement - and with some heavy editing came up with this:

Agreed the dress shot is wonderful, maybe tone the door down just a bit, i feel that it distracts from the dress

I took the first photo and used a photograph of the original house the painter used in the American Gothic painting as a backdrop - then aged the photo a bit.

I love the last one. Looks like it was a lot of fun to create.
