What are the best ways to get started in photography?
Assuming you already have the gear, what would your professionals recommend. I am playing with the idea myself but im sure many others on this site would like the answers as well.

Seems like good advice to me.

I'll add this to Bloos advice: Learn EVERY POSSIBLE WAY to shoot whatever your subject/product is so you'll have some other options available when everything is going wrong!
Also, learn John Glenn's prayer, "Please, Lord, don't let me f**k up". ;-)

Just work for Bloo Dog and I am sure that you would probably realize what "fun" can be at weddings.. :)
Bloo Dog would probably like the extra help because as he wrote... "spread the blame over as many people as possible should something go wrong." .... so if something does go wrong, he only get's 50% of blame... =P hehe.. just joking..

Back to the serious advice., i suggest NOT do wedding as a start because it is a huge responsibility and it is plainly WRONG to be experimenting on someone's most important day of their lives. Start small such as photographing products, friends, etc and see how you like it.

I would like that but where the hell do you live? I dont think that "Central Province Bindair Dundat" qualifies as a place in the world.

You gotta read some of the postings that Bloo Dog is posing. It's really interesting to read and it does give us some some insite what some people really do do because I had done wedding photography myself and some demands are insane. I personally started taking nature photography then moved onto portraits. Hope this info would help you.
