I'm building my website right now and wanted to know if anyone has any quick/easy methods of developing a slideshow and a gallery. If possible, I would like a slideshow on my homepage that doesn't have navigation, just shows pictures, randomly, if possible. And I know a million ways to make galleries exists; I suppose I could incorporate a LR SS until I find a more formal method.
I don't want to use Flash - would like to make the site as SEO friendly as possible. I just started learning HTML/CSS/etc recently, but I like being able to do things on my own and am slowly, but surely getting this. Thanks.

Lightbox is a free JS gallery tool - http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/
Simpleviewer (http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/pro/ ) is a very popular free flash gallery application that can be integrated into existing sites.
XML Flash Slideshow, Flash Media Gallery and XML Flash Gallery Component v2.0 from http://www.flashnifties.com/ are quite nice and should be able to be integrated into an existing look & feel.
I'd suggest that any of these galleries would be nice, and will not affect your SEO one bit.

I like Jalbum (http://jalbum.net/). I tend to use the Chameleon skin, which doesn't use Flash. A user can click an icon to make the pages advance themselves as a slideshow.
One doesn't need to sign up with Jalbum.net, and can simply use the software to produce all the resized images and HTML and put them on a web host of choice. You could even run the slideshow right off the hard drive without putting it on a web server somewhere.

Thanks, it sounds like that program has some promise.
PC vs Mac have their respected forums, go there to discuss windows vs leopard.

It looks like that uses Flash, which I really would like to avoid. Thanks though.

Flickr has a cool slideshow that's free. Also links to and from your flickr so that can attract web site viewers to your other work
