Hey there folks,

I come to you all today to ask for help with some car photography. I really struggle with creating an attractive scene and camera placement to tie it all together, and on top of that I struggle at choosing a lens for a specific type of photo. All my lens types are in my signature in case anybody is wondering.

But I'm really interested in taking my car (Yellow 2004 Ford Mustang w/shiny black rims) and creating an interesting and attractive scene with it. Obviously, I want to make my car sort of "pop" from the rest of the scene, and my initial thought is a sort of grunge shoot in an alley or something of the sort.

Anyway if anyone could list some generic car shoot tips that may help me. You know, car placement, camera placement, attractive angles, lighting tips, etc... that would be really awesome and I find any advice extremely helpful.

If anything, thanks for reading and pass on the note that I need some help.

Thanks!

Get a ladder and shoot a few from a higher perspective.

Find a nice dirty alley like you said, get a load of water and wet it down. Shoot at dusk and you should get some nice images. Think of the thirds rule

Okay, so the town decided it'd be fun to tear up our perfectly nice alleys and lay new asphalt...joy. So plan A is scratched. My Plan B is to go to an undercover parking garage that's nearby...thoughts? Would that work good with Yellow? It would have the same effect as a cloudy day correct?

Plan B is to go to an undercover parking garage that's nearby...thoughts? Garage shots are tough to make the body look good, so they might be interesting, but probably not attractive. Would that work good with Yellow? It would have the same effect as a cloudy day correct? No. Again, see the links in my Sig.
