Ok So I am a Sony Shooter... please don't shoot me :)

I picked up a set of Kenko tubes to use along with my Sigma 105mm to do some close-up Macro work (gotta say I was inspired to try it by some of the submissions on this site). So I attach the tubes between the A700 and the Sigma 105mm... well now it will not Focus at all! i even tried playing around with MF, but still nothing....

Am I doing something wrong? I tried searching but came back with nothing...

Thanks guys and gals... this site has been amazing to learn off of!

You have to get much closer to the target. That's what tubes do, reduce the focus distance. How close depends on how much extension you have.

The depth of field is -razor- thin, especially when you are looking through the viewfinder with the aperture all teh way open. Manually turn the focus to the closest setting and hold the camera just above a flat surface like the floor or a bed. You want a view that will let you see everything from about 6 inches to about 6 feet so that you can try to identify where the focus plane is. Once you have an idea of where it is, you'll find it much easier to use.

Funny, I had the same question and came here to find the answer. I just bought my Kenkos last week. :)
