My little brother wants the latest i-phone, only problem is he lives in Taiwan.

I live in the USA where I can easily get him one, apparently the newest ones are not yet available in Taiwan and even the original ones go for over $1000

I checked with AT&T who sells them in the USA and they told me it might not work outside the AT&T network because they want exclusivity and put something into the phones that wont allow you to use em wherever you want, great.

My brother confirmed that this is true of the original i-phone but that some clever folks in Taiwan have worked out a fix to this, he said that he had not seen this done yet on the new model.

So if anyone here knows what it takes to get a phone that will work outside the USA please let me know

I told him just to get a nice Taiwanese phone but it must be an image thing having the latest gadget...

Or he could just wait a month until it is released in the Asia pasific region :)

It due here on the 10 of June.

I understand the new 3G phones will work on any GSM 3G network, just have to have a sim card and away you go :)
The 3G iPhones sold here certianly work on any other GSM 3G network.

Hhahaha and when you get older, that year feels like a week.
