Help!!! I fear that there is no hope.

I feel like this might be a silly question but I must ask anyway. I formated my cf card and I did not mean to. Is there any way I can get those pictures
back. I am pretty sure that is a no but maybe there is some one out there who knows. Thanks for your help.

Some CF card file recovery programs will recover deleted files and also files where the item has been formatted. However, it tends to be more work to recover after a format, and the results are much less predictable.

I posted a link to some free image recovery software in this thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=57217&page=1), give it a go, it worked for me, but I deleted the images rather than formatting the card. If the software isn't available PM me.

And just remember - if you're going to do any sort of recovery process, Don't take any more photo's on that card until you've exhausted all the recovery methods! Formatting only really removes the directory structure so you should be able to recover the shots you lost.

exactly. the info is still there, as long as you dont overwrite it with new pictures. Just sunday night i used picassa to import my pictures and it has an option to delete pictures after downloading, which i selected. well it was done downloading and it sure did delete the files, only problem was the pictures never made it to my computer. I used one of the free recovery progs and it got 73 of the 74 shots back for me. good luck.

Sorry to hear about your CF card mishap

There was a post on here a while back...someone had accidently formatted their card and used the image recovery software and pulled back not only the images from the last format, but also from a week before......
