I'm in the market for a Flash Gun and have been looking around. Everywhere i go the sales people say the Canon Speedlite 420 EX which is within budget, but what are the Sigma's like (apart from being half the price..lol).
What Flash do those with 300D use and do you like it. I mostly photog people outside with the occasional building/bridge or landscape.
Thanks in advance for your help

Vicki. Not only is the 420EX a decent purchase within it's price, it was THE ONLY Canon flash prior to the much more expensive 580EX who's sensing system recognized all 7 focus points on the 10D/dRebel cameras. No, the zoom head does not compensate for the sensor size like the $400 580EX, but you will not find a more versatile mated flash at it's price range for your camera. Look for used one's on this Forum, the FM Forum, or eBay, as some users are trading up to the 580EX.
Users chief complaint was the unusually poorly designed battery compartment cover. I've always been tender with mine and no problems. The 420EX makes a good portable slave in a future upgrade.
Enjoy. J

I guess I've broken my 420EX then. It swivels and tilts too, just like my 550 and 580 (except for the release buttons)
