Shooting on runways

Has anyone done any shooting on a runway? I would like to pull a couple cars onto the runway to do a shoot, its at a pretty small local airport. I wanted to get some advice on here before calling the airport, their website says they are open from 7am until dusk, does that mean the runways are closed at all other times? Thanks for any help.

I talked to the manager at a local one & got permission to shoot there but haven't used it. Best to call & ask them. Even if it's closed it might still be used in an emergency.

They seemed to be ok with it? I will definitely call, I had no idea on the procedures for these things. Thanks

If you get the permission to do it, the controllers might give you a radio...
Whatever you do, keep listening to it and follow their instructions immediately, even if you have almost exactly got the perfect shot lined up.
