I was amazed to capture this photo so can accept the purple fringing etc etc. I had no idea what the Kookaburra had until I saw the image on the computer. Because of the purple fringing the image has been cropped a lot so I hope it's still clear.

I like this image, and I feel your pain about the purple fringe, etc. Just catching a scene like this is exciting, but the technical problems in getting a knockout capture tend to steal some of the joy.

You might improve this one by reducing saturation of the blue tone a bit and darkening the shadows. At any rate, it's tons better than any pic I expect to get of a kookaburra from this side of the planet!
