hi all

it's my 1st time posting in this forum. i had a look around for some help here, but didn't come across any.

i bought a 2nd hand S3is about 2 years ago, it's been brilliant up until 2 weeks ago :( i've noticed that it turns off at odd occasions when i zoom in or out. it's happened more than 8 times to date and i've tried new batteries, but that's not the problem.

can anyone point me in the right direction, could it be a software bug? i haven't been to a repair centre yet as the are quite far and charge R500 (+-$40)for a quote only.

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You might try the Canon Loyalty Program to see what you can trade it in for. You can usually get some good refurbished deals when you trade in a broken camera. It might be worth exploring . 866-443-8002

i don't know if that would apply to me, as i bought it second hand, so i don't have the original proof of purchase, nor the box + accessories. also, i'm all the way in south africa :(

Bummer. Maybe they have a similar program in South Africa. I don't think you have to have proof of purchase. You just need the camera. I would give them a call anyway.

ok, thanx for the info, i'll look into it. didn't really wanna get something else as this camera is really awesome! but maybe it's time for an upgrade after all. what would you recommend along these lines?
