Greetings,

I stumbled across Photo Clam today while looking for a tripod head. B&H don't seem to have them listed. Does any body know where they can be purchased from, and how they perform?

In the US Really big Cameras.

I just picked up one of the little 30n no frills heads for travel. Tested it with a 50D and a 300F4L IS no slippage, smooth, nice finish knobs are easy to use and spacing between main knob and panning nob are such that my travel tripod legs will close around it ( something the Markins Q3 can't do). I'll give it a work out this month but it looks to be pretty sturdy and the few reviews I have seen all seem to be favorable.

another vote for Photo Clam. I use the 74NS model with my 600 lens (heavily usage and it works perfectly)

Thanks Bubble, I have seen your avatar many times on the forum. Thats one big head. Will it really take 100Kg load, just went pale at seeing the price too!! MtGreen speaks highly of the product also.

i haven't try to test the load at 100kg but D3 + 600VR = no problem (i don't think you can find any other heavier combo) The price is not that bad. :)

Greetings,

Eventually got around to acquiring a PC-40NS Photo Clam Ball Head, nice and smooth to use. I have attached it to a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod without any problems.

I bought my PhotoClam PC-36NS+plate for1D3 from Gmarket, everything works fine, ballhead also ;-) Nice quality..
