i have a feisol 3301 with manfrotto ball head. I am not happy with leg lock system of the tripod as it has to be rotated in a special sequence and is slow. I am looking in to Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 tripod.

1. How is the lever lock of this tripod. HAs anybody used this?
2. IS this tripod (max load of 17.4 lbs) good enough to handle a 300 f2.8 IS. Currently my largest is 70-200 2.8 but i may be looking to buy 300 2.8 IS in the future. So wonder if anybody has used this on this tripod
3. How about this tripod with markins q3 combo?

I have this tripod and use it with a manfrotto ball head and a 70-200 2.8. I find that the leg locks are very easy to use, you simply flip them and they open or close. I haven't had any problems with them at all, they seem to be pretty quick to use. I personally like them better than the inline screw kind.

I do not know if the tripod is good enough for a 300. My suspicion is that the weight will not be a problem, but that the stability may not be as ideal as a heavier tripod. Probably, it wouldn't be a huge deal. I am going to Alaska in a few weeks with exactly that lens and I don't anticipate any major problems.

I don't know about the markins q3.

Hope that helps.

Overall, I'm very happy with this tripod. I wish it was a bit smaller and a bit lighter, but some things you just can't have.
