I would love any comments anyone might have on my photos. I feel like I have a firm grasp of the technical nature of digital photography, but need more work with the artistic side.

You have a great eye for color and photographic subjects.

While I have plenty of challenges of my own !, you hinted at that you had artistic concerns. I think that you should look over the Kodak tips as they relate to composition and framing. Also, look over the images on the exhibition and locate each subject. Then consider the subject's placement, and how its shape, or lighting, or line, or other secondary image content (information) draws you to into the photograph and onto the subject.

Try Mitch's "blink test" (posted elsewhere on this board this month).

In that sense your gorgeous red autumn tree is wonderful. But in a way it does not receive much help by any other content or device in drawing the viewer into your scene. Now that may be the location. If so maybe a field trip is called for to get the color -- but with additional compositional elements that may bind your parts into a stronger total.

I really liked your composition of the pool balls! A polarizing filter would have helped this shot a bit though. Gotten rid of some of the glare.

They are all right. I like most of your artistic shots. The smoking one is kinda stupid. I really like the pool table shot. Try doing that one again but with the floresc. lights off and use natural light. Also use a long exposure and hit the balls and see what that effect creates.
