A bit late but here are some shots from last weeks Tyneside Stages Rally held on the military firing ranges at Otterburn in Northumberland. There are mostly jump shots as circumstances meant I was prevented from travelling to different stages.

All shots taken with a Canon 1D MKIII and either 70-200mm f2.8 or 300mm f2.8

1.
Steve Simpson, event winner leaving a trail of sparks

Shot 5 made me cringe. Some good action shots, especially the first one with the sparks.

Some excellent action shots there Ian, all super sharp as usual. #3 is the pick of the bunch for me, committment written all over it and a fantastic background to finish things off.

Cheers,

Rhod.

Hi Ian ,
As Rhod says, great backdrops and action.
Great shutter speeds retaining sharpness and wheel blur.

I really like the flying mk2,but 5 is my favourite showing what happens on landing.

Weather and light looks murky.

Nice crisp set. Captured the action on the jumps superbly. Hope the Citroen driver managed to control the car when it was back on 4 wheels!
As was said previously, the backdrops look great too, reminds me of Epynt ranges here in Wales.

Thanks Pons, a couple of hours previous I wouldn't have been able to see the cars as the cloud was very low and persistent drizzle.

Thanks, the Citroen was very lucky as on landing he got two wheels on the grass and spun about 3 times and was very lucky not to roll.

Thanks, you must be near me then! Technically these are non spectator events as they take place on MOD land on the firing ranges.

Cheers

Cracking stuff Ian. Love a bit of airborne action. The Mk2 is the one for me - can see the driver's fance (and teeth)!!! :)
