Been getting some flack from people for not sharing any weddings/engagements for months. Mostly because I'm feeling like I'm not improving at all... which is insanely frustrating. Sigh. So here are a few pics from my last wedding.

(Forgive the lowish quality... I didn't sharpen after downsizing)

Comments and critiques appreciated.

8. Reception. Some drinks served THROUGH the ice sculpture. How cool! Their first dance rocked.

These are great, I really like close up with her head on his shoulder. He looks so tense with the crinkled brown in most of the shots, is he just a tense guy? It looks like a wonderfully fun bridal party!
The series of 3 back to back are cute, and the one beneath, what are those big black things in the foreground? or are those shadows? I love that shot, but again, I am not a fan of his expression in them. She is so soft and he looks so upset.

The dance shots at reception rock!

Beautiful work Lloyd. I just noticed on #2 bottom row between left and middle picture a space which looks like it shouldn't be there.

Cheers guys. Appreciate it. I don't mean to say that I think I suck. I just really want to improve with every passing shoot. And it's been very frustrating for me because I feel I haven't been improving. sigh...

I would rather have your glass ceiling than mine.

Try something new, out of the box. I notice with your style of wedding photography you have a unique look. Try different processing. Or look to another set up for your lights.

A good place to search for inspiration is on the web. Even on here; look at different styles, different angles, different processing..try a new conversion BW method. Learn a new skill, invest in renting or buying a new modifier (ever try using gel filters? Those are always cool and fun, how about a beauty dish? Striplight? They're only about a hundred bucks or so...claim it as a business expense).

Talk to your clients about what they want, if they've got sample photographs on the web they could link you to of a style they like...I'm sure you know the wedding world better than me, though, I can offer some general advice. I like to sit down with people and talk about their work, or their kids, or their experiences with prior pro-photographers/agencies. See what they like, what they don't like, what they wish they could get from you that they didn't get from the last guy....etc.

I like these shots, in here, except for set #4; lower right hand corner image...I feel the skies are way too blown out, and the couple look to be blurry..that said you never know, as the jpeg conversion method could be the fault of the softness.

thanks guys.

I'll take some of your suggestions into consideration karl. I feel like I've really hit a wall and I'm rather frustrated. :(
